it’s kind of weird, because i’m starting to enjoy salads more, yet get tired of them at the same time. i know, doesn’t make much sense, but that’s me in a nutshell.
yesterday at work for lunch i had trout almondine, steamed broccoli, and watermelon.
it’s funny, because for breakfast i had pineapple with shredded coconut on it, and one of my coworkers said it looked really good. i said yeah, it is…it’s almost like a pina colada…minus the rum of course, lol
anywho…for dinner i had a date with my best friend, and this handsome fellow at the cheesecake factory.
i had a (too expensive) seared tuna tataki salad, with avocado, tomato, and wasabi vinaigrette. there were a ton of other salads that looked delicious, but they all had cheese, tortilla strips, or other ingredients that i didn’t feel like picking out.
no dessert of course 😦
for breakfast, i tried to alter a “recipe” one of my friends told me about that she had seen on pinterest. it was basically one very ripe banana, and an egg. to that, i added cinnamon, vanilla, raw honey, and just a couple “enjoy life semi-sweetchocolate chips.” (dairy, nut, and soy free. nothing artificial added.) oh yeah, i also added a little flax seed meal, hoping to thicken it up, but next time i will probably add more.
essentially it tasted like chocolate banana pancakes, but the consistency was off.
today, we were supposed to go to 3 sisters cafe for lunch, and go see the great gatsby. well, by the time we were up and at em, the movie started in 20 minutes, or not again until 8:30 tonight. and we all know that the pacers vs. heat game 5 is on tonight at 8:30.
we finished mulching and trimming the bushes. then, we started looking for brian’s knee brace…somehow he tricked me into getting rid of some clothes and cleaning/organizing a little bit. he was done with his side within minutes. i had to stop and take a break. i still have quite a while to go, but am happy with what i’ve gotten done already.
supposedly we are still going to hit up 3 sisters for lunch tomorrow. i’m also hoping we can still make it to the great gatsby. i usually don’t care, but it’s one i’d really like to catch in the theater.
the salad i’ve been wanting so bad is called the vince. it has pineapple, mango, almonds, cranberries and avocado on greens. i may have to ask for some sort of meat on it, because last night i stayed up super late crafting, and started getting really hungry again. i love a good salad, but that doesn’t mean we should have to miss out on the protein.
now the debate starts about what to have for dinner. in case it wasn’t obvious, brian gave up on the diet about day 2. he will still eat what i fix, but when we do not eat together, he eats whatever he wants. can’t win em all.
it’s day 13 and i’m still going strong. feeling great, and still shedding pounds as well.
